Chinese Farmer Interested in Bahamian

A major agricultural corporation in China, Heilongjiang Jinshanfeng Economic and Technical Cooperation Company Limited, has expressed a keen interest in investing in Agriculture in The Bahamas and plans to organize a delegation of farm experts to visit The Bahamas in the near future, to carry out feasibility studies in the growing of vegetables.
 
 
 
 
Mr. Jin Mingshu, President of Jinshanfeng Company, revealed this information during a brief ceremony in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang Province, on October 13, 2006. The company is also interested in constructing and operating a hotel in The Bahamas. Mr. Jin has visited the Bahamas on several occasions and met with agricultural officials.

The Bahamas Head of Mission in Beijing, Mr. Philip Miller, accompanied by Embassy staffer, Ms. Yang Wan, Secretary to the Head of Mission, was present at the ceremony and expressed the willingness of the Embassy to assist the company in every possible way, "within the frame-work of the National Investment Policy of The Bahamas, to ensure the successful implementation of these investments".
