Bahamas Embassy Head in Beijing spent four days in Taizhou on Sep 15 to 18, 2006, Zhejiang Province, as a guest of Mr. Sun Zhiguo, President of the China International Exchange Association, visiting various manufacturing sites and promoting The Bahamas as a profitable market for lucrative trade in small commodities as well as a prime location for investment.

Accompanied by Embassy staffer, Zhang Xu, Mr. Miller met with the General Manager of the China Commodity Shopping Center, the biggest commodity market in Taizhou and toured the Taizhou International Convention and Exhibition Center. A visit was made to a special market for sun-glasses and spectacles, the largest such market in China; and the delegation also inspected the shipping port at nearby Xijiang.
The delegation also visited factories that manufacture hats, beach mats, shade nets, solar-powered lamps and electricity generators, umbrellas, tents, lawn furniture, pearl necklaces, motorcycles and beach vehicles.
Mr. Miller remarked to officials in Taizhou that it was "indeed a privilege to visit the very heart of China's globally competitive machine and see, first-hand, the actual manufacture of such a wide array of consumer items".
